ISRAEL and The Jews

WHEN JESUS CAME to Israel, he divided the Jewish nation in two groups: Those who believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah of the Old Testament, and those who didn't. Those who didn't believe Jesus was the Messiah, killed him (Fulfilling yet another Old Testament Prophecy found in Daniel 9:24-27) and then tried to kill believing Jews. For this, they were punished with the punishments prophesied in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28. Also, after killing Jesus accusing him of being a revolutionary,
they, who were the real revolutionaries, revolted against the Roman Empire and as a result, their temple was destroyed, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies found in Daniel 9:24-27.

The believing Jews and Israelites became THE CHURCH (The word "Church" simply means "congregation", The Chosen People of God.  Also, non Jews (Gentiles) were added into THE CHURCH, if they were faithful, without racial prejudice.  THE CHURCH is the continuation of Faithful Israel, while the synagogue is the continuation of Unfaithful Israel.

Since then, The Jews have been persecuting THE CHURCH, who wants nothing but their good. Jesus himself, when crucified, said: "Forgive them, Father, for they don't know what they are doing".
